There were joint winners of the Footgolf Challenge Trophy at the Suffolk FA Sponsors’ Golf Day.

Eighteen players – 16 sponsors and two members of Suffolk FA staff – took part in the nine-hole event at Fynn Valley Golf Club on Friday.

Just two shots separated the top five players, with Suffolk Footgolf Business Development Manager Dan Ferretti and Ian Cornforth of Plumb Mate Ltd sharing the first prize after completing the course in 32 shots.

They were jointly presented with the trophy by Suffolk FA Chairman Phil Lawler, although a second glass trophy will be made so they can each have a permanent memento of their success.

The Footgolf Challenge followed a presentation made to sponsors by Suffolk FA Football Development Manager Nathan French, and the competition – which was concluded before drizzle turned to heavy rainfall – was followed by a lunch.

Suffolk FA Marketing & Communications Officer Nick Garnham, who organised the day, said: “The day was a great way to engage with our sponsors, who all enjoyed themselves despite the wet and windy weather.

“We would like to thank everyone for coming along and also to Fynn Valley Golf Club for hosting the event.”

Other companies who took part in the event included Days Sports, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Globex Freight Management Ltd, MH Goals Ltd, Omni Freight Services Ltd, Phoenix Sporting Goods and Ransomes Jacobsen.
