THE new Vice Chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) East of England Policy Unit is Hockley-based engineering company owner Ken Wickham.

Chairman of Essex FSB Iain Wicks said: “Essex FSB is delighted that Ken Wickham was elected as the East of England Policy Unit vice chairman at a meeting held in Stowmarket.

“As well as running his engineering company in Hockley, Ken is currently home affairs spokesman for the East of England FSB and is a member of the National Home Affairs Policy Unit as well as being vice chairman of the South East Essex FSB Branch.

“He is also the Essex Crime Against Business spokesman, a member of Essex Crimestoppers Board as well as serving on Rochford Local Strategic Partnership, so his commitment to making sure the voice of small business is heard on issues of concern is well established.

“We are confident that he will make a great contribution to the work done by the East of England Policy Unit in lobbying the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), Government Office East and similar organisations on behalf of the FSB”

Mr Wickham said: “With the changes in regional government taking place this spring and the further proposals for change under discussion by the Government it will be been more important for the voice of small businesses to be heard at EEDA and the other East of England agencies which have a significant contribution to make to economic regeneration and well being in Essex and beyond.”
