The biggest yet Kesgrave Fun Run yet saw a team of 14 of Fenn Wright’s staff members and some friends romping along the 5K route.

Mark Drummond from Fenn Wright Commercial in Ipswich was the first of the Fenn Wright team to complete the run in an unofficial time of around 19 mins 20secs, finishing in, he believes, sixth place behind overall winner Jason Berry.

Fenn Wright sponsored the event and handed out goody bags to all finishers. The largest number of entrants was recorded – 374 in all – raising £1,439 for the Kate Moyes Memorial Fund at St Elizabeth Hospice.

Event organiser Debbie McCallum and friends instituted the Kesgrave Music Festival and related events such as the Fun Run eight years ago in an effort to raise £100,000 for the Hospice in memory of her friend Kate, who died of an aggressive form of cancer in 2005. Debbie has now exceeded her original target, and she and the team of other organisers thanked Fenn Wright for their participation.

Fenn Wright’s own fund raising efforts amounted to £403.

Those taking part from Fenn Wright were Toby Spencer Campbell, Sophie Young, NIchola Faulkner, Emma Ruddell, Alistair Mitchell, Stella Mitchell, Mark Drummond, Gavin Keats, Charlene Goudkuil, Davinia Crack, Rebecca Tang, James Hockey, Drew Olley and Charlie Everest.

Toby, residential sales manager at Kesgrave, said everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the day, which had proved a great success for the organisers.

“Our participation was just part of our efforts to integrate with the local community and support a worthwhile cause,” he said,” and we hope to have a presence at many more similar local events. We will certainly hope to be involved next year entering a Fenn Wright team.”
