EAST Anglian law firm Kester Cunningham has appointed 10 new lawyers, three of them to be based permanently at Bury St Edmunds.Genie Barham, Graeme Burslem, Rad Eltreki, Jenny Lewis and Emily Groom bolster the firm's largest single practice area of commercial property work, while Mark Watson and Damian Humphrey join the corporate team.

EAST Anglian law firm Kester Cunningham has appointed 10 new lawyers, three of them to be based permanently at Bury St Edmunds.

Genie Barham, Graeme Burslem, Rad Eltreki, Jenny Lewis and Emily Groom bolster the firm's largest single practice area of commercial property work, while Mark Watson and Damian Humphrey join the corporate team. Other appointments include commercial disputes solicitor Matthew Lord, residential property lawyer Salma Edis and Emma O'Hara, who joins the private client team.

Miss Barham joins from Mills & Reeve and will be dealing with all aspects of non-contentious commercial property work. Miss Lewis, who worked for top City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner, will be working for a range of institutional clients on their property interests, as will Mr Burslem, who joins from CBA Law in Ipswich.

Mr Eltreki, who joins from CBA law, and trainee solicitor Miss Groom will handle commercial property transactions, including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals of commercial premises and development land and secured lending.

Mr Lord and Mr Watson are both internal promotions, having qualified as solicitors with the firm. Mr Lord will be advising commercial clients on a range of general commercial and contractual disputes, while Mr Watson will concentrate on corporate finance and commercial work, including mergers and acquisitions.

Mr Humphrey joins the corporate team from leading Mayfair firm Gordon Dadds, where he practised for six years. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions and advises on commercial agreements.

Mrs O'Hara will be dealing with all types of private client work, including lifetime and estate planning. Mrs Edis joins the residential property team, specialising in sales and purchases, matrimonial transfers, probate sales, mortgages and re-mortgages, equity release schemes and deeds of gift.
