A west Suffolk vineyard can propose the tastiest of toasts after one of its products scooped top prize at a national competition.
The Lavenham Brook Pinot Noir Symphony Rosé 2013 was judged “most outstanding still rosé wine” at the recent Wine of the Year competition 2014 run by UK Vineyards Association, winning the prestigious Waitrose Trophy.
Partner Nick Thomson said: “The competition included the best known names in the English wine business, so we were both surprised and delighted by the result.”
Lavenham Bacchus 2013 was also awarded a silver medal at the highly competitive awards.
The award coincides with the opening of a modern sales unit at the farm, offering tastings and sales of Lavenham Brook wines and apple juices plus a variety of associated drink and food items.
