Owners CEG has unveiled a £2million refurbishment of its central Ipswich office development Crown House, providing a mix of high quality corporate space and a new workspace concept designed to help smaller businesses thrive.

The investment has created a stunning double height glazed entrance to the landmark building, as well as an award-winning coffee shop offering places for customers to meet, eat and drink.

New cycle storage and shower facilities have also been provided.

Crown House offers around 95,000 sq ft of offices across five floors.

In addition to the existing corporate space, occupied by the likes of LV Insurance, Link Group, Killik & Co and software developer Derivco, the refurbishment has delivered a series of smaller studios designed to challenge traditional serviced offices.

Jimmy McWilliams, investment manager at CEG, said: “The studios offer high quality office space in the heart of central Ipswich. Available on traditional leases or shorter flexible terms, we also offer an all-in package which provides a modern, inspiring working environment complete with every facility needed to get working straight away; from high speed internet ready workstations to modern kitchens and meeting space. We have taken care to ensure the whole process is clear, easy and swift so our customers can focus on growing their business while we take care of everything else.”

Alistair Mitchell of letting agents Fenn Wright added: “CEG has continued to listen to its customers, embracing new trends and managing an investment which continues to meet the needs of today’s businesses.

“The new flexible approach allows new tenants to move into the highest quality offices without the usual delays experienced with legal formalities, fitting out and arranging telecoms and broadband contracts.”

Martin Reader of joint agents Reader Commercial said: “Crown House offers a premium product which will attract companies looking for high quality, well-located space with good amenities on the doorstep. The clear and flexible leases and all-inclusive pricing will compete with the traditional serviced office concept.”

Crown House is in the heart of Ipswich, a few steps from the Tower Ramparts bus station and close to car parks.
