Griffith Elder and Company Limited has recently started building work to expand their factory premises in Bury St Edmunds.
Founded in 1981 by owner and managing director, David Elder, Griffith Elder is a designer and manufacturer of electronic weighing equipment with staple markets in logistics hubs, ports, agriculture and heavy industry.
The extra 2100 sq ft will now allow the company to undertake all their manufacturing work under one roof, creating a more efficient production process and greater storage space.
The company will be offering two additional job opportunities in their office and manufacturing side of the business.
Barclays has supported Griffith Elder and Company Limited with a loan to support the expansion of their factory premises
The company has expanded over the years providing an extensive product list and exporting worldwide to over 80 countries. More than 40% of Griffith Elder’s business is from overseas trade, which includes the capability to undertake special projects for customers and to modify standard products to suit market needs.
Mr Elder said: “We are pleased to have Barclays support to help with our expansion plans. Without their assistance we would not have been able to go ahead with this project at this time.”
