An engineering company’s hobby market sideline, started six months ago, is racking up a growing amount of business.
Martlesham Heath-based engineering consultancy, Progressive Engineering Solutions Ltd set up its own manufacturing brand, Sphere Products, after deciding the original brand looked incongruous at trade shows.
The firm started designing and making a range of laser-cut MDF paint storage racks for the hobby market about two and a half years ago. Director Jon Page said: “When we started the company in 2010 we had no idea that we would be designing and manufacturing our own range of products. We have customers all over Europe, America and Australia and we regularly attend shows around Britain as well as in Ireland and Belgium.”
The company’s sales have grown steadily this year and Sphere has become a major part of the business.
