Venues and planners in west Suffolk are being invited to tap into the popularity of Cambridge as a location for events.

Meet Cambridge, the conference and events bureau for Cambridge, already has a portfolio of more than 70 venues in and around the city but is now opening up membership to facilities further afield.

The organisation, known until a rebranding last year as Conference Cambridge, takes around 4,000 enquiries a year for business events of all types and offers a free venue-finding service for event planners as well as contacts for event management services and suppliers.

It will be attending this year’s Menta Trade Fair, being held at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds on October 3, with the aim of meeting up with event planners and representatives from venues in the local area.

Kelly Vickers, managing director of Meet Cambridge, said: “We hope that the event will give us the opportunity to engage with a new audience; it’s a fantastic opportunity for our team to learn more from the business community, both planners and venues, about their needs in terms of meetings and events too.”
