A SUFFOLK building site manager has hit the hat-trick after scooping a 'Pride in the Job' Seal of Excellence from the National House-Building Council.

Mel Roscoe, 56, of Sudbury, who works for home-builder Redrow, was chosen from thousands of site managers for the award, the third he has won in recent months.

He has also picked up a 'Pride in the Job' Quality award and was crowned Site Manager of the Year by Redrow Homes (Eastern).

Mr Roscoe, who has more than 36 years of experience in carpentry and has worked on building sites since leaving school aged 15, said he was “thrilled”.

He has worked for Redrow for the past four years and won the award for his work on the Oakside Park development at Kesgrave, near Ipswich.

Redrow construction director Mick Grier said: “The commitment required to win an award is immense, three in one year is amazing. I'm very proud of Mel. This winning streak is not only evidence of his exceptional skill and talent as a manager, but also of the aptitude of all the site team.”
