Management and leadership training worth thousands of pounds is being offered on a heavily discounted basis to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Suffolk.

Bury St Edmunds-based enterprise agency Menta has teamed up with Lighthouse Training, from Little Bealings, near Woodbridge, to deliver programmes leading to an Institute of Leadership and Management Diploma.

The qualifications are appropriate for all levels, from first line managers to managing directors. The usual cost is around £5,000 but government funding means the training is being offered to firms with a wage bill of up to £3m for just £500.

The funding is available until June on a first-come-first-served basis. For details on the diplomas available and the full criteria for eligibility, contact Lighthouse Training on 01473 610555 and quote “MENTA5”.

Alex Till, chief executive of Menta, said: “The Level 3 Diploma in Management is designed to equip first line managers with the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to successfully manage and develop a team.

”Understandably, businesses shy away from financially supporting their staff through the training as the usual cost is £5,000. However, with the government funding, it costs £500, which makes it much more affordable for company owners to consider.

“It is also a great way to show employees they are valued and will encourage loyalty to the business.”
