Anglia Maltings has acquired the North Yorkshire food and cereals manufacturer Micronized Food Products (MFP) from SCB Holdings.
MFP, which is based in Northallerton, produces ingredients for the brewing industry and processed cereals and pulses for animal feed and petfood manufacturers, with annual turnover of around £12million.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Anglia Maltings, based at Great Ryburgh in Norfolk, owns the Crisp Malting Group, which has five maltings in East Anglia and Scotland, and malt products company Edme, based at Mistley, near Manningtree.
David Thompson, chief executive of Anglia Maltings, said: “There are excellent opportunities for MFP through the overlap with Crisp Maltings and Edme, and we will be using that to build the services and products we offer to customers.
“Northallerton will also provide a valuable location to serve Crisp’s existing craft brewer customers in the area.”
