Mowers made and marketed by Ipswich-based Ransomes Jacobsen are helping to deliver quality playing surfaces for teams at the Euro 2016 football tournament in France.
The Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne, the venue for three group stage matches including England v Slovakia and yesterday’s Switzerland v Poland clash in the last 16, uses two Ransomes Mastiff heavy duty walk-behind mowers and a Jacobsen Tri-King ride-on triple mower to maintain its pitch.
Ransomes Jacobsen equipment also features at facilities being used for training by the Spain, Germany and Iceland squads.
Alan Prickett, managing director at Ransomes Jacobsen, said: “This continues a long tradition of mowers from Ipswich being used at global sports events and it gives us a profound sense of pride.”
