The availability of low sulphur diesel and an update on a campaign opposing additional meat inspection costs for local abattoirs were among the items discussed with Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Dan Poulter last week.
The MP met with the Ipswich & Stowmarket National Farmers’ Union branch at Alder Carr Farm, Needham Market.
Dr Poulter said he had written to the Health Minister about meat inspections. Other items included rural broadband, hen cages and a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone consultation, which proposes changes to silage, slurry and agricultural fuel rules.
