Scarlett & Mustard co-founders Sandy Ruddock & Julian Pollard, showed the MP their new premises and introduced him to the team.

They also discussed recent schemes the condiments maker, which recently scooped the Investec Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Best Newcomer award, has taken advantage of, including a New Anglia Growing Business Fund Grant, UKTI’s Passport to Export and the Government’s Apprenticeship Scheme.

“Winning this award is a great boost for us, and really cements the Suffolk food scene as innovative, creative and growing fast. We are immensely proud of the team, and grateful for the financial support we have had from the Government through these schemes,” said Sandy.

Dr Poulter was persuaded to take part in their new Fasterchef – Beat the Batter challenge, making a pancake from scratch.

Dr Poulter said: “I very much enjoyed my visit to Scarlett and Mustard and to have the opportunity to congratulate Sandy, Julian and their team on their well-deserved success in winning the prestigious Investec Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year Award. I was very impressed with all that they do and wish them every success for the future.”
