The New Anglia Growth Hub, which provides free business support across Suffolk and Norfolk, is looking to partner with commercial landlords to offer their tenants access to appointments with the hub’s advisers.
Today, the Growth Hub provided 18 individual appointments with businesses on the Red House Farm Industrial Estate at Bacton, which is owned and managed by David Black & Son Ltd, and it is hoped that more landlords will follow suit.
The Growth Hub drafted in three advisers for the whole day to listen to the needs of the companies and help identify sources of funding, grants and other support.
Adam Farrell of Peggs Joinery had a meeting with Samantha Jones from the Growth Hub. Adam said: “It was a really useful discussion with Sam. We have plans to invest in new vehicles and machines and it’s great to know that there may be grant funding to help us. When we’re ready to move forward with these investment plans, we’ll certainly be in touch again.”
Jay Hawes, finance controller at David Black & Son, said: “We want to look after the businesses on our site and help them to grow. It’s great to be able to tap into the experience and knowledge of the Growth Hub’s advisers for free and the strong uptake clearly shows that businesses value the opportunity.”
Senior Growth Hub adviser Richard Glinn added: “We’re taking our free service straight to the doorsteps of these businesses. The team at David Black & Son are going the extra mile by engaging with the Growth Hub directly and helping to co-ordinate appointments for all of their tenants. We would love to hear from more commercial landlords so we can roll this model out across Suffolk and Norfolk.”
Last month, the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership re-launched the Small Grant Scheme, which now provides grants of between £1,000 and £25,000 to help businesses increase productivity, launch new products or cut costs. The funding is from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
