CLYDESDALE Bank has appointed Richard Norrington as regional director of a new expanded East region which stretches from Milton Keynes in the South to Newcastle in the North and covers a total of 13 Financial Solutions Centres (FSCs).

Mr Norrington is already responsible for the FSCs in Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Norwich and Peterborough. His role has now been expanded to cover the North East and Yorkshire.

He originally joined Clydesdale Bank in 2005 as managing partner of the Hertford FSC before being promoted to iFS regional director for the East of England in June 2008.

He will now look after the FSCs in Bradford, Doncaster, Hull, Leeds, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sheffield, Stockton on Tees, and York.

Mr Norrington said: “Over the recent economic uncertainty, Clydesdale Bank has continually reiterated its position as being open for business and our focus remains on growing strong customer relationships and supporting the region's businesses.

“The message we are hearing from customers, particularly those who have joined us recently, is the attraction of our traditional banking model which supports businesses with good cash flow and strong management.”

He will be supported in his new role by Martin Ibbetson who has been appointed assistant regional director for the east region. He is the managing partner of the bank's North Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) and previously led Yorkshire Bank's York-based North Yorkshire FSC for two years.
