Penn Commercial has let a retail unit, a restaurant and an industrial unit in Ipswich in the past month.

The New Cardinal Street premises, which have been let to Mr Henin Hama on a five year lease, comprise two retail showrooms extending over 3,582 sq ft on a single floor.

The Northgate Street restaurant is in a town centre location close to the library and main shopping areas. The total floor area is 1,611 sq ft and includes restaurant, preparation room, storage, toilets and basement.

The Shaylor Group plc has taken the unit on a short term lease of 10 months.

Elsewhere in the town, Penn Commercial has let Unit 14 Olympus Close, off Whitehouse Road. The 1,100 sq ft industrial unit, part of a terrace of steel portal frame construction, has been let to HTM Ltd on a five year lease.

Paul Keen of Penn Commercial said: “There’s a lot of activity in the market place just now. Despite the warnings of Britain’s economy facing a slow down, we are not seeing that in Suffolk at the moment!

“These premises have all been let in recent weeks and we are experiencing strong demand for property of all kinds in and around the area. There are a lot of people looking to buy and to lease, and we are working hard to satisfy demand.”
