The on-farm renewables sector is rapidly gathering momentum, energy consultants say
ADAS, which held a FiT for Farming event at Newmarket Racecourse on Wednesday, is reporting a ‘tipping point’ in the on-farm renewables sector.
ADAS’s REsolved renewables arm says that it is experiencing a rapid increase in interest from farmers who are considering the potential revenue opportunities available from the on-farm installation of wind, solar or anaerobic digestion technology as a potential farm diversification.
This is in spite of the decline in renewable incentive tariffs.
Chris Procter, Principal Consultant at REsolved renewables, said: “The renewable energy sector is a growing opportunity for farmers who increasingly appreciate the business case for investment.”
