The region’s farmers will be considering how they can prepare themselves and their businesses to thrive in a volatile political landscape at a conference in February.

The annual Sentry farming conference takes place on Wednesday, February 7, at Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket.

The event, entitled British Farming: Delivering value whilst upholding values, includes contributions from a range of speakers. The Rt Revd Dr Alan Smith, Bishop of St Albans, will talk about the future of the countryside, while Kent farmer and former banker Jan Boomaars, of Vexour Farms will offer insights into building a farm business. They are joined by chief executive of Stable Risk Management Richard Counsell, Victoria Harris, head of sustainability and responsible sourcing for Waitrose, and County Cork farmer Alan Jagoe, past president of CEJA, the European Council of Young Farmers.
