A MAJOR Farming Conference is set to take place at Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket next year.

The yearly Sentry conference is normally held at Chilford Hall at Linton, Cambridgeshire, but the venue was ravaged by fire in June.

The line-up of speakers for the conference, on February 6, includes Professor Tim Benton, UK champion for global food security and professor of population ecology at the University of Leeds, and Professor Maurice Moloney, director and chief executive at Rothamsted Research. Founder of Open Farm Sunday, Hertfordshire farmer Ian Pigott will also address delegates.

The theme is Leading Consumers to Essential Scientific Solutions.
