Chelmsford-based e2v biosensors, a subsidiary of e2v technologies plc, has appointed Dr Paul Rodgers to the position of chief executive, to lead the company through the commercialisation of its novel biosensor platform technology.

Chelmsford-based e2v biosensors, a subsidiary of e2v technologies plc, has appointed Dr Paul Rodgers to the position of chief executive, to lead the company through the commercialisation of its novel biosensor platform technology.

Dr Rodgers is an entrepreneur with 25 years' experience in the life sciences industry and has founded 10 biotechnology companies. He has extensive experience in fund-raising, management of research and development, strategic business development, and licensing and protection of intellectual property.

He has worked in the pharmaceuticals, food, fine chemicals and agriculture sectors.

Dr Rodgers, who is also chief executive of Ithaka Life Sciences, said: “I am thrilled to be leading e2v's biosensors team. I intend to focus on early applications for this new platform and develop collaborations to bring the technology to market.

“We have demonstrated the technology and achieved outstanding results, this platform has a great future and will find applications throughout both medical diagnostics and life sciences.”
