The Blooming Great Tea Party is Marie Curie’s summer fund-raiser and encourages everyone to get together and hold a tea party, bake sale or special tea break in aid of the cause.

Perrywood has chosen Marie Curie as their charity of the year to help support the 67 nurses the charity has working across Essex. These Marie Curie nurses, known as the ‘angels without wings,’look after people that are dying in their own home, and help their families.

Marie Curie volunteer Valerie Kruse attended the event.

She said: “We had a fantastic time sharing a cuppa and cake with everyone and hope we’ve inspired lots of people to hold their own Blooming Great Tea Party. Every cuppa counts in helping Marie Curie.”
