SELECT Recruitment took top honours last night at the third Archant Suffolk Recruitment Awards. The firm, which has offices across south Suffolk and north Essex, was named Best Recruitment Company at the end of a successful evening during which it also picked up four other accolades.

The firm, which has offices across south Suffolk and north Essex, was named Best Recruitment Company at the end of a successful evening during which it also picked up four other accolades.

Select won the Innovation and Best Induction Programme awards and was also runner-up in the Best HR Practice and Best Customer Service categories.

Runner-up for the Best Recruitment Company title was Time Appointments while other category winners included Jark Industrial, Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, Ipswich Jobcentre Plus and Mad Rabbit Recruitment.

The awards ceremony, attended by around 240 people, was held at the Hotel Elizabeth, Copdock, near Ipswich and was hosted by BBC Radio Suffolk personalities Mark Murphy and Lesley Dolphin. The evening began with a champagne reception and, following dinner and the presentation ceremony, ended with dancing to live music.

Mark Westall, recruitment manager at Archant Suffolk - the company behind titles including the East Anglian Daily Times - the level of interest in the 2007 awards reflected the success of previous years, with the occasion now established at the premier event in the recruitment calendar.

He also thanked all the award sponsors for their support and congratulated the winners, who were each presented with a glass trophy to keep.

The Special Recognition Award: Winner - Jackie Stoneman of Select Recruitment; Runner-up - Craig Sennett of Icon Consultants.

Best Manager: Winner - Nicola Mewse of Hales Group; Runner-up - Beverly Lambert of TCR Sheldrake.
