Refrigeration specilaist GAH has received three nominations for the 2013 RAC Cooling Industry Awards, which recognise innovation in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

GAH, based at Bentwaters Parks, has been jointly shortlisted with Tesco.com for the Enviromental Collaboration of the Year title, and also has two nominations in the Innovation of the Year category.

All the the nominations relate the the company’s Refrigerant Containment System (RCS), which has the potential to reduce harmful emissions from refrigerant gases into the atmosphere, by monitoring for any leakage of refrigerant gases and automically locking down the system if a leak is detected.

In addition to its awards success, GAH has recently won new contracts with ASDA, Iceland and Ocado to manufacture refrigeration units for their home delivery fleets.

By the end of 2013, the company will have manufactured 490 units for ASDA, around 200 for Iceland, which takes the total number of GAH units on its vehicles to 700, and 210 for Ocado, which will take the total number of GAH units on Ocado vehicles to 900.

The RAC Cooling Industry Awards, staged by RAC, the journal for the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, take place in London in September.
