ANGLIAN Water has been recognised as one of the UK's most responsible businesses.

The prestigious top-tier “Platinum Award” has been won as part of Business in the Community's annual Corporate Responsibility Index.

This recognises what BiTC defines as “a company's positive impact on society and the environment through its operations, products or services and through its interaction with key stakeholders such as employees, customers, investors, communities and suppliers.”

Anglian, which has received a Gold ranking under the scheme for the past two years, achieved its best ever score of 97.5% having been judged on a wide range of criteria including commitment to the environment, energy conservation, waste management, and being a responsible employer.

Chief executive Jonson Cox said: “This is terrific news and we are delighted to win recognition as one of the UK's most responsible businesses.

“It is a moment to celebrate, but it is also a time to re-affirm the strength of our commitment to serving the best interests of our customers and to protect our precious environment. We are proud to be making such a positive impact on the communities we serve.”
