Milsom Hotels and The Hills Group have won the approval of Suffolk Coastal council for the use of Kesgrave Hall as hotel and restaurant, including listed building consent for alterations.

The venture between the two companies will see the Grade II listed Georgian mansion developed sympathetically to create 'milsoms at Kesgrave Hall', incorporating a 100 seat bar/restaurant, meeting and private dining facilities, an outside dining area overlooking the 38 acres of park and woodland and 15 bedrooms.

Set to open in April 2008, the venture will create approximately 60 full and part time jobs and represents an investment in the region of £4 million.

Milsom Hotels already owns Le Talbooth restaurant, Maison Talbooth and milsoms in Dedham and The Pier at Harwich. The Hills Group is a broad-based construction and development group of companies based in Colchester.

The extensive building and refurbishment programme will be carried out by the Hills Group and the design will be led by Geraldine Milsom, who will bring the same sense of style and informality for which milsoms is known.
