COLCHESTER-based intellectual property law firm Sanderson & Co's attorney Rob Knight has qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and has also been accepted onto the register of European Trade Mark Attorneys.

“I'm really happy to have achieved both of these milestones in my career,” he said.

“This success is attributable to a combination of factors, including experience, intense studying and valuable guidance from colleagues. I have learned a considerable amount during the past five years and I am now better placed to advise colleagues and assume more responsibility.

“Of course, it does not end here, I still have one exam to pass to qualify as a European Patent Attorney and the recent introduction of the Continuing Professional Development scheme will ensure I keep up to date with changes in IP law.”

Mr Knight joined Sanderson & Co in 2004 when he was 24 years old and now handles a variety of patent and trade mark work.
