ROBERT John and Zeenat Pasha are celebrating after completing their training periods and qualifying as solicitors at Colchester-based law firm Ellisons.

Mr John, who joined Ellisons in 2007, qualified on November 1. For the final part of his training period he has specialised in personal injury and is now a permanent member of the growing insurance litigation team headed up by partner Robert Jones. The former Southend High School for Boys pupils studied law at the University of East Anglia.

Ms Pasha, who studied law at the University of Essex, started her training contract with Marshall Legal in September 2007, qualifying in September 2009. She joined Ellisons as part of a merger in October 2009 and is now part of the private client team specialising in wills and probate.

Senior partner Peter Powell said: “Ellisons Solicitors has always taken graduate recruitment very seriously. We are proud of our retention record and the fact that over half the current partners started their careers as trainees with the firm. Having proven themselves as trainee solicitors, both Robert and Zeenat have shown us that they have the right blend of intellect and initiative to be part of Ellisons' future.”

Natalie Andrews started her training contract with Ellisons in September as a member of the Insurance Litigation team. Ms Andrews, who also has a law degree from the University of Essex, was with the firm for six months working as a paralegal before starting the training contract.
