RODGER Oatley has been elected the new president of the Federation of Professional Toastmasters at its AGM, held at The Swan Hotel, Harleston.
Mr Oatley joined the federation in 1993 having completed his training in London. He is a Fellow of the National Association of Toastmasters.
After 35 years in the hotel and catering trade, he was awarded the industry's professional qualification in 2001 when he became a Member of the Institute of Hospitality.
Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies are still very much in demand at weddings, banquets, balls, and corporate, royal and civic occasions, says Mr Oatley.
“They provide that traditional sense of British style, professionalism and guidance to assist in the timing, management and smooth running of any function to achieve a successful conclusion to the satisfaction of the hosts and all their guests,” he said.
