ROGER Burbridge has been appointed as the new general manager for Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket.

Mr Burbridge, 43, says he is looking forward to raising the hotel's standards even higher. It is the only four star hotel in Newmarket and has recently undergone a major half a million pound facelift, including the creation of a new reception area and state-of-the-art meeting and conferencing facilities.

“What we have here is a fantastic product which is quite unique to this part of the world,” he said.

“My aim is to make the personal service on offer even more outstanding. We have a great team of staff and a fabulous building and facilities which are second to none. It's a very exciting time to be here and to be the face of Bedford Lodge.”

Before his appointment, Roger spent three years at Newmarket's Jockey Club Rooms, and before that worked for a number of boutique hotels in London. He has worked within all areas of the hospitality industry, from food and beverage to front of house and conferencing.

Bedford Lodge Hotel managing director Noel Byrne said: “Roger has exceptional experience and is passionate about creating the perfect environment for all our guests. We are delighted to welcome him.”
