SAM Matthews is celebrating after passing his exams to become a chartered certified accountant.

Mr Matthews, who is based at the Claydon office of chartered accountants and business advisers Larking Gowen, focuses on a large portfolio of clients, which includes general accounting, audit work for large companies and corporate taxation services.

He was among a group of successful students from the firm's offices in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex who were invited to a congratulatory lunch by managing partner Bob Rose to mark their achievements.

“These exams are very challenging, so I am pleased to be able to meet all the students individually, including Sam, and personally congratulate them for their efforts,” said Mr Rose.

Mr Matthews said: “I am very pleased to have passed my exams and want to say a big thank you to all the members of my team, who have been very supportive with my studies. The lunch was a great opportunity to meet the other students, and I look forward to developing my career with the firm.”

Also joining the celebrations were Larking Gowen chairman David Whitehead, partner in the firm Anne Richardson and human resources executive Julie Best.
