Search is on for the best in tourism

THE East of England regional round of the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, the annual showcase for the tourism industry, was launched yesterday.

The Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds was the venue for the launch of the awards, which aim to encourage and reward excellence across the tourism sector and to raise the profile of participants.

East of England Tourism chairman Derek Langslow, who leads this year’s judging panel, said: “The regional Enjoy Engand Awards offer a wonderful opportunity to show off the great qualities of the East of England. The winners have the chance to go on and win a prestigious national award.”

The Tourism in Suffolk and Tourism in Essex awards being organised by media company Archant Suffolk, whose titles include the EADT, are feeder events for the regional contest.
