HOW green is your business?

If you think it’s among the region’s most environmentally aware, sustainable, innovative and forward thinking companies the East Anglian Daily Times would like to hear from you.

The EADT and Suffolk Business magazine are launching the Anglian Business Green 50, aimed at recognising enterprises and individuals that are making a significant contribution towards Suffolk’s aims of being the greenest county. The initiative is supported by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and is open to businesses of all sizes and from all sectors, including agriculture and not for profit organisations.

Iain Dunnett, low carbon development manager at the chamber said: “I have the pleasure of meeting a fascinating range of innovative green businesses – companies such as Enviro Cars, running a green taxi service, Green Call running a low carbon conferencing service and many small businesses that are now supplying and fitting energy kit such as solar photo voltaics and heat pumps.

“The potential to develop the low carbon economy across the East of England and neighbouring countries in Europe is immense. Green 50 will help to build business success in Suffolk, will promote innovative businesses and will increase awareness of the need for business to operate in a sustainable manner.”

The Anglian Business Green 50 will be selected by a specially appointed panel and celebrated in a special publication and event on September 9. For more information about criteria and nominations contact: alicia.garrad@archant.co.uk. Nominations can be sent directly to business@eadt.co.uk
