PEGASUS Airlines has launched a new service from Stansted Airport to Dubai.

The Turkish-based airline, which also recently began flying between Stansted and Istanbul, says the Dubai route – which operates four times a week – is already proving popular.

Stansted Airport commercial director Jonathan Crick said: “This new connection to Dubai is a very exciting proposition and to see passengers checking in, less than a month after Pegasus announced the new link via Istanbul, endorses our belief there is appetite and demand for mid and long-haul services from Stansted.”

Peter Mantle, head of UK sales and operations at Pegasus, said: “We have seen great interest in our Dubai connection since ticket sales went live.

“Direct flights to Istanbul from Stansted were increased to twice daily earlier this year and I’m delighted to be here again celebrating yet another landmark event with the launch of our fourth Middle East connection.”
