Talks aimed at averting Bank Holiday strikes by workers who scan baggage at Stansted Airport will be held today.
The conciliation service Acas said the GMB union and contractors Mitie will meet to try to resolve a row over pay.
Around 40 union members are due to take industrial action over four days from August 23.
Gary Pearce, GMB regional officer said: “GMB as always is available to have discussions, but only the restoration by Mitie of the premium rates that were withdrawn leading to a 3.5% cut in pay, will avert these stoppages.”
The union has given notice of strike action at the airport from 3.30am to 6am and from 3.30pm to 6pm for four days from Friday August 23.
