A vintage tractor run has raised nearly £6,000 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
Stebbing Vintage Tractor Run organisers presented £5810 after taking 41 tractors on a 25 mile run though the north Essex countryside on May 14.
The event drew vintage tractor enthusiasts from across the region, and included David Hunt, who hosted the start and finish at Brazenhead Farm, Little Bardfield, taking out the oldest tractor to take part, a 1939 Case Model R.
Organisers, Dick Hughes, David Hunt and Mac Beanland and Essex agricultural chaplain Reverend Janet Nicholls, who organised breakfast and lunch for tractor drivers and supporters, were given a tour of the headquarters at Earls Colne Air Base and shown the life-saving work carried out by the air ambulance service. They were delighted to learn of the purchase of the new Agusta Westland 169 helicopter that will soon be airborne over Essex.
