Stradbroke-based pig breeding and genetics company Rattlerow Farms has welcomed a new sales development manager. Steve Dunstan takes over from David Arrand who will retire at the end of this year after 23 years with the company.
Most of Steve’s career has centred on pig production and breeding, having previously worked with PIC and Genus.
“Rattlerow has an important and influential role in the pig sector, both here and overseas and I am thrilled to be part of the team. The business is founded on proven genetics and practical pig management and this balanced approach achieves exceptional results,” he said.
His new role involve close co-operation with commercial producers and their customers. A key objective will be to help them raise productivity and harness more of the genetic potential available from their Rattlerow genotypes. Rattlerow is achieving 30 pigs reared per sow per year with growth rates in terminal lines exceeding 1200g/day on its own commercial health status farms.
