Weylands Farm at Stoke by Nayland is celebrating after a set of “amazing” results at the Royal Norfolk Show this week, including clinching the Supreme Champion Suffolk Horse title.

“On Wednesday our young Welsh cob, Diachristu Kinda Magic, won the Novice Private Driving, one of the first classes of the day, in the hands of Nigel Fuller, with the added bonus of a Royal presentation,” explained the farm’s Fiona Clark.

“He went on to be third in a strong Open Private Driving class at The Hickstead Derby meeting yesterday, again in the hands of Nigel Fuller.

“We took two two-year-old Suffolk horses to the show yesterday. Both the young stallion and the gelding won their respective classes, then our home-bred two-year-old gelding, Weylands Farm Gifford, won the gelding championship and The Suffolk Horse Best Foot Championship.

“The Stallion, Shotleyfield Dazzling Duke, also two years old, went on to become Supreme Champion Suffolk Horse of the show.

“We went to the show with three young horses to gain experience, hoping they would win their respective class. The final result was amazing. Both horses were shown for the main part by Stephen Gowing.

“The icing on the cake was the royal presentation in The Grand Parade and being part of Mary Wright’s (Royal Norfolk Show Livestock co-ordinator) retirement presentation. The stallion was only purchased in March from breeders near Durham as a ‘horse for the future’.”
