A HOME furnishing store chain again taken top honours in a national contest.

Glasswells, which has stores in Bury St. Edmunds, Ipswich, Haverhill and Saffron Walden, scooped the 2010 Furniture Retailer of the Year Award after competing against 270 retailers operating 611 outlets across the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

It is the fifth time in eight years it has won the Associated Independent Stores (AIS) accolade, which is based on quality and professionalism of staff, product knowledge and customer services through to quality of displays and the overall perception that the retailer provides customers.

Managing director Paul Glasswell said it was “fantastic news” which proved their hard work was paying off , but promised they would not be resting on their laurels.

“I am confident that our customers notice the difference in quality of product and service that we deliver,” he said.
