Bee Kemball, managing director of logistics company Debach, will be guest speakier at the launch on November 11 of Grant Thorton’s Suffolk Ltd report.

The annual study, now it is 13th year, analyses the performance of the county’s top 100 business.

Bee Kemball has led the Debach warehousing and distribution firm since 1992, taking over from her father Bill Kemball who founded the company in 1975.

She has overseen the business’s investment in IT and green technology, helping to grow Debach from its agricultural roots into one of the most forward-looking companies in the sector.

James Brown, practice leader at Grant Thornton’s Ipswich office, who heads Suffolk Ltd, said: “Debach is a great example of the type of ambitious and progressive companies which for many years have formed the backbone of Suffolk’s business landscape and contribute strongly to the local economy.

“Last year’s Suffolk Ltd findings showed that the county’s Transport and Motor Retail sector generated the largest share of turnover, highlighting the importance of this group of businesses as Suffolk moves forward. We look forward to welcoming Bee to the 2014 Suffolk Ltd event and hearing her business insights which will undoubtedly be both interesting and thought provoking.”

Launched in 2001, Suffolk Ltd provides an in-depth financial analysis of the county’s top 100 businesses by turnover and has become a recognised barometer of overall business performance in Suffolk.

The study looks at key performance indicators such as operating profit and employment figures, and also includes an analysis of the financial data by sector.

James Brown added: “The 2013 Suffolk Ltd survey results showed the county’s top 100 businesses had fared extremely well following a number of years of challenging trading conditions and were investing cautiously for growth.

“It will be interesting to compare this picture with the 2014 study findings and we of course hope this encouraging trend has continued.”

The 2014 Suffolk Ltd results event takes place on Tuesday, November 11at Wherstead Park, near Ipswich. For further information, to register your interest in attending or to request a copy of the full Suffolk Ltd report, e-mail SuffolkLtd@uk.gt.com .
