The Suffolk Business Awards 2022 are now open for entries and the Environmental and Sustainability Award will go to a business that has proved its commitment to a greener business model by reducing its carbon footprint, and having a long-term strategy for sustainability.

“Now more than ever, it is crucial for businesses to step up and commit to sustainability and to teach, communicate, enable, support and encourage employees and stakeholders to commit to a green agenda in the short and long term,” said Will Wright, land and partnership manager at Lovell Partnerships, the sponsor and one of the judges for this category.

“We want to recognise the businesses that are taking responsibility for being sustainable through their strategy and showing commitment and care for environmentally-friendly practices,” he said.

“Billions of pounds are being spent on the green economy, and businesses need to ensure that their impact on the environment is sustainable.”

Mr Wright said he believes customers judge a company by its values, and said sustainability is high on the agenda for many people.

“They want to support and work with business who share their goals,” he explained, adding that businesses who enter this category will be “shining a spotlight on those leading the way”.

“The Business Awards are highly respected and the Environmental and Sustainability Award will champion a business for its green credentials and boost its reputation for being environmentally friendly. Most of all, it will showcase a business with a conscience and heart.”
