The Suffolk Business Awards 2022 are now open for entries, and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award aims to celebrate inspiring businesspeople under 30 in the county.

The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award is about recognising those who have seized opportunities and have a passion for progress – two essential elements for businesses that want to keep moving forwards, according to sponsor and judge Peter Wilson, group managing director at Cory Brothers.

“Cory Brothers’ 180-year trading history is built upon good management, the ability to adapt and embrace new methods and ideas,” he said. “We always look for new talent to stay ahead. Forward thinking and young entrepreneurship is important for businesses that wish to keep moving forward.

“In the age of information, it is essential to stay relevant. Suffolk has a good track record of innovation and attracting investment. A pipeline of new ideas and fresh talent is essential to maintain this regional success.”

And Mr Wilson recognises that in order for this to happen “more investment, more collaboration and more opportunities” are needed.

The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award plays a part in this, and Mr Wilson encourages the county’s young, talented business people to enter.

“The awards process will ask questions of you and your business – introspection helps you to be clear on your objectives,” he said.

“Aside from any recognition, the process itself can provide additional benefits: top class feedback, exposure, insights and networking.”

And if you’re ultimately successful, Mr Wilson says awards recognition can “help propel your business; reach a wider audience, extend your marketing reach, and enhance your reputation”.
