BUSINESS leaders from around Suffolk yesterday celebrated the launch of a new campaign to inspire the creation of more start-up businesses across the county.
The “Enterprise Superstars” initiative, being spearheaded by the Eastern Enterprise Hub, is an ambassador-style programme under which established and emerging entrepreneurs and senior business leaders have agreed to share their experiences and expertise.
An initial 17 “superstars” have agreed to encourage and support new and would-be entrepreneurs by undertaking speaking engagements, giving presentations and taking part in question-and-answer sessions.
Speaking at the launch, Celia Hodson, chief executive of the Eastern Enterprise Hub, which is based on the Ipswich Waterfront, said: “Often, hearing someone else’s story is the tipping point for an individual to take that leap of faith and start their own enterprise.
“Growing the numbers of entrepreneurs and start-up businesses across many different sectors is vital to this county’s economy and our group of superstars are passionate about playing their part in helping others fulfil their ambitions and potential.”
Mark Westall, business manager at Archant Suffolk, media partner for the campaign, added: “Enterprise Superstars are inspirational individuals giving up their time to help would be entrepreneurs.
“This is a fantastic way for Suffolk’s business community to play their part in economic recovery by nurturing and encouraging potential new businesses.”
Any organisation wishing to book a contribution from an Enterprise Superstar should call Phoebe Rope at the hub on 01473 527100 or visit www.eehub.co.uk .
