THE French arm of Suffok-based PetroTechnik, the market-leading global supplier of the UPP underground petroleum pipe work and containment system, have recently installed new polyethylene tank access chambers in the pits at the world famous Le Mans motor racing circuit in western France.
PetroTechnick France completed the installation for contractors Tokheim France as part of the development of updated refuelling facilities in the new pits recently constructed at the circuit.
The water-tight tank access chambers ensure maximum strength and safety for installers and forecourt operators.
Unlike many other chambers, which have a large number of bolt holes, entry points and other penetrations that weaken the structure of the chamber, the UPP fusion chamber's riser section electrofuses to the chamber base obviating the need for multiple bolt holes, so cutting out
potential leak paths between the riser and the base and also speeding up installation.
PetroTechnik France's general manager, Dominique del Greco, said: “This is a prestigious installation at a world famous location. The choice of UPP chambers means that the Le Mans management, l'Automobile Club de l'Ouest, will have a leak-free, easily maintained and totally safe fuel dispensing system.”
