Suffolk-based Hopkins Homes has been named in the fifth edition of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report.
The report is a celebration of the UK’s most dynamic small and medium sized businesses. This is the second year in a row that Hopkins Homes has been included on the list.
Beginning with a single renovation project in 1985, Hopkins Homes is now the largest independent housebuilder in East Anglia - building over 1000 homes in the last financial year. The company directly employs over 150 people, both at the head office in Woodbridge and across their developments as well as supporting many thousands of jobs in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex through subcontractors and in the supply chain. Hopkins Homes is also the largest supplier of affordable homes in the region and has made payments of over £20 Million towards community infrastructure, as well as establishing the £500,000 Hopkins Charitable Fund which supports local charities and good causes.
James Hopkins, executive chairman of Hopkins Homes said: “We are delighted to have been included in this annual report from the LSEG for the second year in a row. At the heart of all we do is our commitment to building well designed homes that both complement the local aesthetic and meet the practical needs of our buyers and their communities. Our success depends on this and our passion for achieving this aim is matched by the enthusiasm of our buyers.”
“We also have a strong track record of supporting communities across East Anglia. Last year we expanded the Hopkins Charitable Fund and are now committed to donating £500,000 over five years to local good causes and charities. We’re already seeing the differences this monetary support can make. In addition, Hopkins Homes staff will be lending a practical hand, assisting in construction projects and other work at some of these local charities through a series of volunteering days.”
Nikhil Rathi, CEO, London Stock Exchange Plc added:
“We warmly congratulate all of the companies identified in this year’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report. Five years on, the report continues to demonstrate the strength and diversity of British businesses across the country. These dynamic companies are the backbone of our economy, playing an important role in the UK’s ability to innovate, export and grow. This report is a significant part of London Stock Exchange Group’s broader campaign to support UK high growth companies. We are committed to championing British businesses and Britain’s dynamic entrepreneurial spirit.”
