SUFFOLK lager brewer Calvors has been named as the 2011 winner of THE ONE, a contest for high-potential start-up enterprises with business support worth 50,000 as the prize.
Calvors, based at Coddenham Green, near Needham Market, beat off competition from five other finalists to win the competition, which was held for the first time last year.
Founder Alec Williamson will now have the chance to work with organisers including PR agency Voice Communications and brand and creative firm Zeal Design to develop his business over the coming year.
Also contributing their services to the prize will be The East Anglian Daily Times, business consultant Simon May, search engine optimisation specialist Climbing Trees Online Marketing, law firm Ellisons, accountants LB Group, leadership and management coaching from Faith Performance and call answering service MyRuby.
Representatives from each of the organisations were joined by last year’s winner, Ed Halls of the Rose & Crown, Great Horkesley, in judging this year’s final, hosted by Colchester United FC.
