Suffolk/Norfolk: New Anglia LEP unveils plans for second regional conference

NEW Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has announced a second major conference to bring to together the business community from across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The event, on Tuesday, March 27, will give businesses, organisations and individuals a chance to hear about the LEP’s work and the new business opportunities it is helping to create.

A number of local business leaders will also be telling the stories behind their companies at the conference, which is being sponsored by the Port of Felixstowe and held at the John Innes Conference Centre in Norwich.

Andy Wood, chairman of New Anglia, said: “Following the success of our first major business event, held in The Apex, Bury St Edmunds, last year, we thought it important to bring the businesses in Suffolk and Norfolk together once again.”

Delegates will be able to hear about the Port of Felixstowe’s recent 300million investment and its role in the region’s economy and Mr Wood will share details of the LEP’s successes and the challenges ahead.

Other topics will include opportunities in the green economy, including the Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth enterprise zone, and the conference will also see the launch of new sector strategies.

In addition, young Suffolk entrepreneur Ben Bowles, of stage lighting and production company CEG, will be talking about the challenges his business has faced, and Jason Borthwick of Norfolk-based Deepdale Farm and Earthly Ideas will be sharing the story behind the diversification of his business.
