SUFFOLK-based freelance journalist Felicity Landon has won a major international award for her work in the maritime, transport and logistics press.

Felicity, a maritime specialist, was named Supply Chain Journalist of the Year at the 2012 Seahorse Club Awards for an article examining “portcentric” solutions, published in Port Strategy magazine.

She was also shortlisted for the Environmental Journalist of the Year Award, for an article examining the opportunities, challenges and dangers for ports when handling large volumes of biomass for power generation.

The Seahorse Club is a networking group for public relations, marketing, advertising and journalism professionals within the freight, passenger, shipping and logistics sectors.

This year’s Seahorse Club Awards attracted 130 entries from more than 50 journalists in 12 countries around the world. The awards recognise excellence in news and feature writing for journalists specialising in the maritime, transport and supply chain industries.
