THE owners of the Ufford Park hotel, golf and spa complex near Woodbridge have celebrated its 20th anniversary with a party including presentations to long-serving members of staff.

Linda Pyne, Robert Walker, Kevin Thorpe, Stuart Robertson and Gill Ling all received awards for 20 years’ service from directors Colin and Shirley Aldous, having worked with them at Ufford Park since its earliest days.

In addition, Tracey Adams, Adrian Hollins, Bev DeCosta, Honny Redgrave, Becky Stammers, Linda Oxborough and Cindy Crossland received awards for 15-plus years of service and Gill Till, Tarnia Robertson, Sarah Crossfield, Keith Hannah, Keith Ling, Ron Geering, Paul Flowerdew, Stuart Jay, Sharon Graham, Chris Fuller and Tracey Burch were honoured for 10-plus years.

Mr and Mrs Aldous took over the stalled development of what was to become known as Ufford Park having previously been involved in house building.

Investing their own money into the scheme, together with the support of another local entrepreneur, the Ufford Park hotel opened its doors in April 1992, with improvements and investment having continued over the years.

The anniversary celebrations will continue on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, with a family fun day which will include a golf competition, starting at 10am, a putting contest, between 2pm and 4.30pm, live music from 2pm and a fun run starting at noon.

There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, a treasure hunt, a disco, and craft and food stalls, and tours of the hotel and taster classes will be available throughout the day.
